CandidatesAdvantages for candidates will replace the provisional and full membership
and will be offered to not-for-profit organisations that train and place Assistance Dogs
that have provided the ADEu (ADI regional) board with:
  • A completed application form which will show a written mission statement indicating the intent to provide assistance dogs. The organization does not have to be a non-profit (or equivalent) in year 1. To enter its second year of candidacy; an organization must have applied for its charitable equivalent. It must have written by-laws or equivalent. To enter its third year candidacy, the organization must be a non-profit. Papers proving this need to be submitted with fees when required.
  • A signed agreement to adhere to the Standards and Ethics accepted by ADEu (ADI) for Hearing Dogs and Service Dogs and Social Dogs from the organizations president.
  • A reference from an existing ADEu (ADI) Member.
  • Full payment of the registration fee which forms the annual ADEu (ADI) fee in year 1 and is non-refundable.
Candidates have 5 years to achieve accredited Member status. If Member status is not achieved by the end of 5 years, the program will no longer be considered an ADI Candidate unless they can show due cause to the Board of ADEu (ADI) as to why they should remain a candidate and outline a clear timetable of how and when they will be ready for accreditation.
The Annual Fee for ADEu Candidates in 2009 is 75 euros.
The Board of ADEu has the right to refuse candidacy.
