| Access in Europe
As you know, one of the 'missions' of Assistance Dogs Europe is to ensure that assistance dog partnerships have full access to all public places throughout Europe. Together with the European Guide Dog Federation, ADEu is lobbying in Brussels to get the Equal Treatment Directive on the agenda of the European Commission. Nationally many European Assistance Dogs programmes are actively lobbying to change legislation in their country to ensure assistance dog partnerships get equal treatment and full access to all public buildings. Legislation In all countries assistance dog owners should carry their assistance dog identification card or similar documentation which will identify their dog is an assistance dog. Assistance dogs should wear the harnass that their programme has provided. Do not forget to ask your vet about health issues when you travel to another country. International Access Text is available for members at the members-only page. You also can ask the secretariat |
